未来を創る“Hybrid Innovation” 2025：セッション10を開催しました

2026年3月3日（火）、東京科学大学にて「未来を創る“Hybrid Innovation”」2025のセッション10を開催しました。
本プログラムは、東京科学大学とロンドン芸術大学セントラル・セント・マーチンズが共同開発したオリジナルメソッドを基盤に、アート・デザイン・科学技術・社会学の視点を横断しながら、新たな価値創造の可能性を探る全10回の産学協働プログラムです。

Session 10 は、4月のシンポジウムに向けた最後の準備セッションとして開催されました。今回のセッションでは、これまで各チームが積み重ねてきたアイデアや議論を整理し、「どのような思考プロセスを経て現在の提案に至ったのか」を他者に伝えるための構造化に重点が置かれました。

各チームは、これまで作成してきた未来シナリオやデザインブリーフを振り返りながら、2035年の社会背景、課題設定、ユーザー像、サービスの機能、そして最終的にどのような世界を目指すのかを整理していきました。セッション1から現在までの思考の変遷を可視化し、単なる完成したアイデアではなく、どのように考えが発展してきたのかを共有できる形へと変換していきました。

また、シンポジウムで使用するポスターやビジュアル制作についても具体的な検討が行われました。各チームはテンプレートをもとに、スローガンや参考イメージ、図解構成などを整理し、どのようなビジュアル表現で提案を伝えるかを議論しました。完成度の高いデザインやビジネスモデルそのものよりも、”Logical argument”と呼ばれるスパイラル状のダイアグラムを利用し、発展してきた思考プロセスを可視化すること今回の重要な評価対象であることが改めて共有され、参加者は自分たちの試行錯誤をどのように表現するかを意識しながら作業を進めました。

セッション全体を通して、Hybrid Innovation が重視してきた「思考のプロセスを共有する」という姿勢が改めて強調された最終セッションでは、アイデアを単なる提案として終わらせるのではなく、その背景にある社会課題、価値観、試行錯誤を含めて伝えることの重要性が共有され、シンポジウムに向けた最終的な方向性が明確になるセッションとなりました。

On Tuesday, 3 March 2026, Session 10 of ‘Hybrid Innovation: Creating the Future’ 2025 was held at the Institute of Science Tokyo.

This programme is a 10-part industry-academia collaboration based on an original methodology jointly developed by the Institute of Science Tokyo and Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. It aims to create future value by moving back and forth between the perspectives of art, design, science and technology, and sociology.

Session 10 was held as the final preparatory session ahead of the symposium in April. The focus of this session was on organising the ideas and discussions each team had accumulated so far, and on structuring their presentations to clearly convey to others the thought processes that had led to their current proposals.

Each team reviewed the future scenarios and design briefs they had created to date, organising the social context of 2035, the defined challenges, user profiles, service functions, and ultimately the kind of world they aim to create. They visualised the evolution of their thinking from Session 1 to the present, transforming their work from mere finished ideas into a format that allowed them to share how their thinking had developed.

Specific discussions were also held regarding the production of posters and visuals to be used at the symposium. Using templates, each team organised slogans, reference images and diagrammatic structures, and discussed how best to convey their proposals through visual expression. It was reiterated that the key focus of evaluation this time was not the level of design polish or the business model itself, but rather the visualisation of the evolving thought process using a spiral diagram known as a ‘logical argument’. With this in mind, participants proceeded with their work, conscious of how to express their own trial and error.

Throughout the session, the approach of ‘sharing the thought process’—a principle Hybrid Innovation has always emphasised—was reaffirmed. In this final session, the importance of conveying not just the ideas themselves but also the underlying social issues, values and trial-and-error process was highlighted. This session served to clarify the final direction for the symposium.
