2025年1月7日（火）東京科学大学大岡山キャンパスにて、産学協働プログラム「Hybrid Innovation (HI) 2024」のセッション7を開催しました。
このプログラムは、英国ロンドン芸術大学Central Saint Martins校 (CSM) と共同開発したオリジナルメソッドに基づき、講義・実践ワークショップ・ファシリテーション等を組み込んで全10セッションを提供しています。

2025年最初のセッション7では、「Regenerative Design（再生デザイン）」の基本要素を改めて確認しながら、各チームのプロジェクトのブラッシュアップとデザインブリーフの完成を目指すものでした。これまでのセッションで積み上げてきた成果をさらに発展させ、次のステージへ進む準備を整える重要な回となりました。

セッションの前半では、再生デザインの基本要素を振り返り、各チームのプロジェクトにそれらがどのように反映されているかを確認しました。基本要素を意識することで、各チームのプロジェクトの軸がより明確になり、完成間近のデザインブリーフの内容をさらに精緻化することができました。これにより、各プロジェクトが持つ課題や可能性を再確認し、次のステップへの道筋を明確にしました。

後半では、美術大学などで行われるデザインクリットの形式を取り入れた活動が行われました。各グループは、互いのプロジェクトに対する意見交換を行いながら、自分たちのプロジェクトに対する新たな視点やフィードバックを得ることができました。このプロセスでは、複数のグループを回りながら、他チームのアプローチや考え方を学ぶとともに、他者からの建設的な意見を取り入れることで、プロジェクトの完成度をさらに高めました。

デザインクリットは、ただフィードバックを受け取るだけでなく、他グループへの意見交換を通じて、参加者同士が互いに学び合う場としても機能しました。これにより、個々のプロジェクトだけでなく、プログラム全体の質が向上する結果となりました。

今回のセッションで、各チームのデザインブリーフはほぼ完成に近づきました。次回以降のセッションでは、これらのデザインブリーフを基に、プロトタイプ制作が始まります。実際に形にすることで、プロジェクトがどのように実現可能かを検証し、さらなる発展を目指します。

On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, Session 7 of the industry-academia collaboration program “Hybrid Innovation (HI) 2024” was held at the Institute of Science Tokyo.

Based on an original methodology developed in collaboration with Central Saint Martins (CSM) at the University of the Arts London, this program offers a total of 10 sessions that incorporate lectures, hands-on workshops, and facilitation.

Session 7, the first of 2025, aimed to refine each team’s project and finalise their design briefs whilst revisiting the fundamental elements of ‘Regenerative Design’. It proved to be a crucial session for building on the progress made in previous sessions and preparing to move on to the next stage.

In the first half of the session, we reviewed the fundamental elements of Regenerative Design and examined how these were reflected in each team’s project. By keeping these core elements in mind, the focus of each team’s project became clearer, enabling us to further refine the content of the design briefs, which were nearing completion. This allowed us to re-evaluate the challenges and potential of each project and clarify the path forward to the next step.

In the second half, we conducted an activity modelled on the design critique sessions typically held at art universities. Each group exchanged views on one another’s projects, gaining new perspectives and feedback on their own work. By rotating between multiple groups, participants learned from other teams’ approaches and ways of thinking, whilst incorporating constructive feedback to further enhance the quality of their projects.

The design critique served not only as a forum for receiving feedback but also as an opportunity for participants to learn from one another through the exchange of views with other groups. This resulted in an improvement not only in the individual projects but also in the quality of the programme as a whole.

During this session, each team’s design brief neared completion. In future sessions, prototype production will commence based on these design briefs. By bringing the projects to life, we aim to verify their feasibility and pursue further development.
