2024年12月10日（火）東京科学大学大岡山キャンパスにて、産学協働プログラム「Hybrid Innovation (HI) 2024」のセッション5を開催しました。
このプログラムは、英国ロンドン芸術大学Central Saint Martins校 (CSM) と共同開発したオリジナルメソッドに基づき、講義・実践ワークショップ・ファシリテーション等を組み込んで全10セッションを提供しています。
セッション5では、特別講師としてロンドン芸術大学（UAL）セントラル・セント・マーチンズ校のベティ・マレンコ先生をお迎えして開催されました。今回のセッションでは、未来を想像し、哲学的な目線で再構築するユニークなアプローチを学び、参加者たちは創造力を深める活動に取り組みました。
最初のアクティビティでは、参加者たちは「2035年」をテーマに各グループでコラージュ制作を行いました。それぞれが思い描く未来のビジョンを雑誌の切り抜きを使って視覚化し、アイデアを共有しながら議論を重ねることで、様々な未来の可能性を具体的な形に表現しました。
次に行われたのは、ベティ・マレンコ先生が開発した「哲学ピル」を活用したアクティビティです。カードに書かれたさまざまなキーワードをレンズとして使い、先ほど想像した未来を再解釈するプロセスを体験しました。これにより、参加者たちは元のビジョンに新たな視点を取り入れ、さらに深掘りした未来像を描き出しました。
最後のアクティビティでは、HIプラクティスのテーマ地である東京都あきる野市に焦点を当てました。参加者たちは魚や農夫など様々な人間と非人間の視点を持つキャラクターを通じたロールプレイを行い、あきる野市の1日を想像しながらストーリーを構築することで、町の解像度を高めました。この作業では、地図を用いて物語を構築し、町とその要素との関係性を考えることを目指し、このプロセスを通じて、単に需要や実用性だけでは見えてこない新しい可能性を発見することができました。

On Tuesday, December 10, 2024, Session 5 of the industry-academia collaboration program “Hybrid Innovation (HI) 2024” was held at the Institute of Science Tokyo.
Based on an original methodology developed in collaboration with Central Saint Martins (CSM) at the University of the Arts London, this program offers a total of 10 sessions that incorporate lectures, hands-on workshops, and facilitation.
Session 5 featured Dr. Betty Marenko from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London (UAL), as a special guest lecturer. During this session, participants learnt a unique approach to imagining the future and reconstructing it from a philosophical perspective, and engaged in activities designed to deepen their creativity.
In the first activity, participants worked in groups to create collages on the theme of ‘2035’. Using magazine clippings, they visualised their individual visions of the future and, through sharing ideas and engaging in discussion, gave concrete form to a variety of possible futures.
This was followed by an activity utilising the ‘Philosophy Pills’ developed by Betty Marenko. Using the various keywords written on the cards as lenses, participants experienced the process of reinterpreting the future they had just imagined. Through this, they incorporated new perspectives into their original visions and sketched out a more in-depth picture of the future.
The final activity focused on Akiruno City in Tokyo, the theme location for HI Practice. Participants engaged in role-play through characters embodying various human and non-human perspectives—such as fish and farmers—and by constructing stories whilst imagining a day in Akiruno City, they enhanced their understanding of the town. This exercise aimed to use maps to build narratives and consider the relationships between the town and its elements; through this process, we were able to discover new possibilities that would not have been apparent through demand or practicality alone.
