Last April 6, 2016, a few GSEP students together with Prof. Naoya Abe had a surprise encounter with Tokyo Tech President Yoshinao Mishima at the wood deck of Tokyo Tech. The wood deck is a popular spot in front of the main building of Tokyo Tech where students and neighboring people visit for picnics or sakura viewing. The students were having lunch when they met Prof. Naoya Abe of the Department of Transdisciplinary Science and Engineering. In the middle of their relaxing conversation, the students, together with Prof. Abe, saw Pres. Mishima walking on the wood deck. They caught each others attention, exchanged warm greetings, and eventually took a group photo below,
Thank you very much, Pres. Mishima for your time!
Early April is the best viewing season for sakura in Tokyo Tech. The area is open to everyone.
