Well done to the students for their hardwork in these past months! This May and June have been an exciting period with Master’s students doing their best to write papers for the Japan Society of Civil Engineers, and exchange students dropping by to visit the lab. The students have been doing research on top of their academic requirements of taking lectures and group works.
Last May and early June, Li Qin (right top photo) and Worameth a.k.a. Tan (left top photo) came to visit the lab. Li Qin dropped by while doing his graduation trip here in Japan. Li Qin has been working with Jiang on utilizing satellite data as potential predictors for urban parameters. A few weeks later, Tan also visited while on transit for a conference in the US. Tan is continually working with us on detection of human behavior using publicly available sources. It’s been a pleasure catching up with Li and Tan!

Last June 12, 2024, we also visited JAMSTEC to learn techniques and discuss deeply abou atmospheric chemistry and potential research collaborations. Well done to Nagata-kun and Dea in their presentations. We’re looking forward to the future of this research.
