SoMaT October School has successfully ended

The five-day SoMaT October School, which kicked off on 30 September, has ended with great success.

Around 30 students completed five days of intense lectures, PhD research presentations and group work at the Ookayama campus and Shibuya QWS. On the final day, 4 October, at the Shibuya QWS, five groups presented their learning and insights from the second day’s fieldwork. Guests included members of the Norwegian Research Council, which funds SoMaT, as well as representatives of the organisations and labs that cooperated with our fieldwork.

From our laboratory, master’s students Okutsu-san and Zhou-san participated.

During the fieldwork conducted by each group, the doctoral students Fujimoto-san and Kinouchi-san worked as interpreters.

The SoMaT School in the first year of the five-year SoMaT project was held in Tokyo, but next year it will be held in South Korea under the leadership of KAIST.
