JSPSD参加に対する感想・証言

今回JSPSDに参加した生徒の皆さんに感想と証言を書いていただきました。

以下、イノベーション化学系所属、A.A.さんの回答です。

Q1. How did you come to know JSPSD?

I got to know about JSPSD from a classmate in my Japanese class at Tokyo Tech.

Q2. What was your motivation and purpose for joining JSPSD?

It seemed like a great opportunity to learn about sustainability issues and policy in an engaging way so I joined JSPSD.

Q3.  Do you think that your motivation and goal are fulfilled at the end of JSPSD?

I definitely learned a lot about sustainability issues in both Japan and the U.S. thanks to the field trips, lectures and discussions with students from Tokyo Tech and Georgia Tech. My goals were fulfilled.

Q4. In general, all lectures and group-activities were conducted in English.  How did you find this language setting?

Since English is my first language, this was an ideal setting for me. I think that some of my Japanese classmates sometimes had a little difficulty with completely understanding everything being said and discussed. However, I feel that everyone learned to work together in a good way as the program proceeded.

Q5. Please let us know if you find any benefits about the studying together with Georgia Tech student?

I could learn a lot about their perspectives from the United States. I addition, their backgrounds are diverse and it was interesting to tackle the same policy issue from several angles during discussions.

Q6. Upon the completion of JSPSD, if there are anything that you came to notice something new, something you started wondering etc., please let us know.

I never thought about issues in society as “puzzles” before that can be solved. I liked this way of looking at things. Also, since my research is on smart cities, I became interested to look more into how smart tech and data analytics can be leveraged in strategizing for one of the UN’s goals of sustainable cities.

Q7. Do you recommend Tokyo Tech students to join JSPSD next year?  If yes, please provide with the reasons!

I would definitely recommend Tokyo Tech students to join, because it is a very valuable learning opportunity rooted in real issues. It is engaging considering the field studies and lectures from a variety of people. Last but not least, it is a rare opportunity to get to know both students and professors from Georgia Tech, to learn from their perspectives, to make some good friends and to have fun.
